Plagido’s Winery is known as “A hidden gem amongst the giants” for good reason. Located in the heart of South Jersey, whose abundance in local wineries has blossomed in recent years, this family-owned boutique winery has made its way to the top of the lists. Awarded Winery of the Year 2016 & 2017, it’s no surprise that this is one of our favorite local highlights.
Plagido’s History
Located amongst the stunning rural landscape of Hammonton, NJ, Plagido’s is a 4th generation farm. Proud to continue their family’s tradition of “Offering the fruit of his family’s vineyard for you family’s table”, all grapes are Estate Grown. Also, all of their wines are fermented on premise in either stainless steel or oak.
About Plagido’s Wine
Plagido’s specializes in small artisanal hand-crafted wines, that are produced using a basket press. The grapes come from small lots, on a single vineyard, with sandy loam soil. The quality of wine speaks for itself.
They have wines for every taste, as well. Some favorites include their Cabernet/Merlot Blend (Oak): Vintage 2015 which is a beautiful, smooth Bordeaux Blend full of ripe blackberry fruits with just a hint of mocha, and the signature Plagido’s Choice, a well balanced white wine that tempts the palate with tastes of pear and honeydew with a slightly sweet finish.

Visiting Plagido’s
Plagido’s welcomes you to relax on their patio with a glass of wine and enjoy the tranquil view of their vineyard. Their tasting room is open to guests 7 days a week from 11am-5pm! They are located along the ‘Wine and Ale Trail’ of South Jersey, and frequently participate in local events and festivals.
The holiday season is the perfect time to stop by, as they are taking part in Holiday Wine Trail Weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 29th-December 1st from 11am-5pm. Come try some of South Jersey’s best wines and get a souvenir wine glass for your collection.
