Q&A with Annie Byers, Marketing Manager

Q: Professional Insights:
A: (Tell us about your position at NKREG and what you like most about your position) As the Marketing Manager, I work closely with Nancy and Karen to oversee the Marketing/Listing Department which includes every aspect of promoting of our team and our listings. With eight years prior experience in Real Estate as an agent I have insight to understand all aspects of the business and that makes it easier to navigate what I do. I design graphics and write content, so my creative side is always being nutured, which makes my position very enjoyable. Helping to plan special events and contests, handling our sponsorships and philanthropic/charity involvement, these responsibilities bring me joy. As a person who grew up playing team sports, I have always loved being a team player. I am proud to be a part of the Nancy Kowalik Real Estate Group team.  We are a big office family who works very hard together and supports each other every way we can. I’m the team cheerleader and the #1 fan of this dynamic group of great people!

Q: Words that describe you:
A: Loving, Enthusiastic, Determined, Creative, Kind.

Q: Things that make you smile:
A: My family; my twins, Frank and Gianna, make me so proud and happy. I’m blessed to have my dad (and memories of my Mom and Mommom, I miss my them so much!)
Our four cats; they’re great company and they always help me relax.
The farm and my horses; being with at the farm and riding my horses gives me incredible joy.
My friendships; spending time with my good friends always makes me happy.
The beach; it’s my happy place (but I prefer it in the late afternoon/early evening when everyone has gone home, and the sand cools off.)

Q: If you could be on the cover of any magazine, which one and what would the headline read?
A: Sidelines: “Horse Show Mom For Life”

Q: Fairly useless but unique skill or trick?
A: It’s not useless but is is unique. I have a knack for communicating with animals, domesticated or wild, they seem to understand my vibe.

Q: Most interesting and fairly useless fact you’ve heard about anything?
A: Cats will never be fully domesticated.

Q: Goofy and guilty pleasure of yours?
A:  Binge watching Netflix with my cats.

Q: Favorite quote? Why?
A: “Whatever You Are: Be A Good One” Abraham Lincoln. If you’re going to take something on, you should do your best at it.

Q: Favorite food? Why?
A: It depends on the time of year. In the Spring, it’s Blueberries and Strawberries with whipped cream. Summertime I love Jersey Tomato and Cucumber salad, or a sliced Jersey tomato and cheese sandwich. In the fall, it is definitely my homemade Pumpkin Pie. Winter: it’s ravioli and meatballs.

Q: Favorite book? Why?
A: 1984- George Orwell
I found the concept of this book terrifying and made me question authority ever since I was in the 7th grade. It is strange how relevant this book seems today.

Q: Favorite movie? Why?
A: There’s Something About Mary – It’s ridiculous and makes me laugh every time I see it.

Q: Future aspiration?
A: I really hope to be a grandmom someday! I would love to own a small farmette where I can keep my daughter’s and my horses once they retire from their performance/show careers. Also I hope to own some real estate investments that I can pass on to my kids.
