Q&A with Devon “list it” Chandler Listing Coordinator
Q: Professional Insights:
A: My position here at Nancy Kowalik Real Estate Group is the ‘Listing Coordinator’. I am the “helping hand” that assists our agents with their listings from the time they become active until they eventually go ‘Under Contract’. In a nutshell, I assist in the preparation of all our home marketing. This includes writing detailed descriptions of the property, scheduling photography/video for the property, marketing the properties across all our social media platforms and assisting with the coordination of all open houses.
Q: 3 Things that describe you:
A: 1. Creative (No matter the medium, I love to express myself through art!)
2. Compassionate (I always try putting others’ needs before my own.) 3. Fun-Loving (Because what’s life without a lil’ fun sprinkled onto it? 😊).
Q: Things that make you smile:
Animals (Any and all, especially rabbits! 😊)
Iced Coffee (I literally RUN on Dunkin!)
Cooking and Baking (I love creating recipes I find on Pinterest and making them into my own!)
The Beach (The Jersey Shore is my second home!)
Binge Watching TV Shows (You name it, I’ve probably seen it!)
Q: If you could be on the cover of any magazine, which one and what would the headline read?
A: Bon Appetit: Devon Chandler, the new face of affordable, at-home cooking
Q: Fairly useless but unique skill or trick?
A: I am not sure I would consider it a “skill”, but ever since I was a child, I’ve had the ability to make myself “fake cry”. It has always been a longtime joke that I missed my true calling in life… as an actor on a soap opera, haha!
Q: Most interesting and fairly useless fact you’ve heard about anything?
A: Flamingoes aren’t really pink! When flamingoes are born, their feathers are gray or white. The pink hue is acquired over time from the food they eat. The fish and algae they consume contain chemicals called carotenoids that dye their feathers.
Q: Goofy or guilty pleasure of yours?
A: Oh I am definitely guilty of singing alone in my car. There’s just something about being in the car on a nice day with my windows down and my favorite song blaring on the radio that makes me feel so free that I just want to belt it all out!
Q: Favorite quote? Why?
A: “This too shall pass”. It implies that change is the ONLY constant thing that exists in our lives and that the difficult situation you are currently facing [whatever it may be] will eventually “pass”. Everything changes over time and time continuously brings about a change in our lives.
This quote speaks to me on a very personal level. I have been through many challenges in my life that at the time I thought I would never be able to overcome. But, lo and behold, those times have come and passed, and I am still standing, even stronger than ever!
Q: Favorite food?
A: Macaroni and Cheese: Who DOESN’T love Mac ‘n Cheese?! It’s the ULTIMATE comfort food and tastes amazing no matter how you make it!
Q: Favorite book?
A: Currently, I am not much of a reader, but I have all intentions to pick up the hobby sometime in the future. I absolutely LOVE anything Horror-related so all of Stephen King’s novels are on the top of my list to read!
Q: Favorite movie?
A: This is a hard one for me as I am a HUGE lover of movies! I am very passionate about Cult-Classic 80’s slasher movies. My favorites are Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and the Halloween series. How can you NOT love the classic “serial killer’ characters such as Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers- Am I right?!
