Why We Loved Our Home at 508 Leonard Lane
Twelve years ago, we moved into this home with the intention of providing our four daughters the best education offered in the South Jersey area. All our children flourished in the school system, graduating with admirable GPA’s given their Advanced Placement and Honors curriculums as well as receiving significant monetary awards for their continued education.
With the youngest graduating Clearview Regional High School less than a week ago, I now pause to reflect on what this community has meant to us over the years.
When our children were young, it was dance recitals, soccer or lacrosse games, and the summertime Saturday swim meets. The Mullica Hill community is so vested in recreational opportunities for the children by offering numerous options for all levels of aptitude. We’ve cultivated so many valued relationships in our community through our children’s activities and throughout our neighborhood.
My heart fills with pride when our community rallies to assist when one of our own who has been negatively impacted. Fund raisers for a Coach whose son was diagnosed with cancer, a Go Fund Me Page and clothing donations for a family who lost their home in a fire, and the list goes on. This community springs into action and always surpasses anyone’s expectation of generosity.
Of course, there are the obvious advantages to living here….the ease of getting to Philadelphia restaurants, sporting events, concerts, hospitals and International airport. The many local wineries host festivities all year long. National Night Out is hosted yearly by each local town, along with holiday fireworks and food festivals.
Pitman, another local town very close to ours, constantly has new events and things to do. Pitman Craft Shows, micro-breweries including Human Village and Kelly Green, restaurants, and Broadway Bakery, not to mention the dozens of local farm stands for farm fresh fruits and vegetables. There is no doubt that the new hospital and proposed expansion of Rowan University will bring even more options to the area.
At the end of the day, there is simply nothing more satisfying then sitting by the pool watching the most glorious sunsets you’ll ever imagine. Breathing in the gentle breeze from the local orchards, watching the sun gracefully dip ever lower behind the hedgerow.
You are part of a very special community of people who truly “Love Thy Neighbor” and genuinely look out for one another. It really is a little slice of heaven here.
